Oxygen Therapy
Oxygen therapy supplies the body with extra oxygen when a disease or condition prevents you from getting the right amount. The oxygen is stored in a metal cylinder or another container and is carried through a tube. You may receive the oxygen through two small plastic tubes placed in the nostrils; through a face mask that fits over the nose and mouth; or through a tube inserted through the front of your neck (transtracheal oxygen therapy). Oxygen therapy can be done in a hospital or at home.
